2008 ANNUAL MEETING - A UNIQUE PROGRAM
"What's New In Our World Of Old?"
A Report: By STAFFORD AGEE, President
Instead of a guest speaker, several Board members and volunteers gave a "sneak preview" of some of our latest acquisitions and improvements now being finalized for the 2008 Museum season. "What's New In Our World Of Old?"
Eldon Steward introduced one of our more outstanding new exhibits and told the story behind it; Pat Brophy, museum curator, introduced another. Others presented the history of additional new accessions. Our "construction gang" were on hand to point out and explain the work underÂway to complete new exhibits and upgrade the quality of older ones.
Vernon County Historical Society officers for 2008 were elected along with three members of the Board of Directors.
Members work long hours behind the scenes to clean, repair and preserve artifacts and articles used in museum exhibits. The recently restored rural free delivery hack and doctor’s buggy are prime examples of history given new life. |
